The Museum is accessible to the disabled and we are able to take those in wheelchairs on certain trains, however please be aware that we operate using vintage carriages and access to the main seating area may not be possible, we will however accommodate you if possible.
Apart from the signal boxes (due to the nature of the construction) all public buildings are accessible from the ground level, however as we are located on either side of an operational Network Rail line we have a footbridge which joins the two parts of the site. If you are unable to cross the footbridge please ask at the reception for disabled access and we will advise you of the arrangements which allows you to enter the yard at ground level.
Please be aware that the disabled access is for use by disabled people who cannot manage the footbridge only, we are unable to offer these arrangements to others.
