Event Details
The Famous Chappel Beer Festival returns for the twenty-third year at Chappel in September 2009, jointly organised by the East Anglian Railway Museum and our friends from the Campaign for Real Ale.
Over 400 beers will be available, with beers from small local breweries and rare beers not normally available in Essex
Real Ciders and Soft Drinks will also be available
Hot and Cold Food available.

Please be aware that NO museum trains will operate during the Beer Festival and access to the Museum Exhibits will be restricted to 11 am to 4pm. Our Shop and the Visitor Reception Centre will be closed during the festival.

Free Admission for EARM or CAMRA (Including ECBU) members throughout the festival, on production of their current membership card.
Late Night National Express East Anglia Trains
Why not leave the car at home and come to Chappel and Wakes Colne by Train?
The Festival is held at the Museum which is located on the Marks Tey to Sudbury Line - National Express East Anglia operate an hourly service, 7 days per week and for the Beer Festival additional late night trains will operate back to Sudbury, Marks Tey, Colchester and Ipswich (with Connections to Chelmsford and London).

Please be aware that the additional bus services shown do not operate on the Tuesday evening, and you are advised to check the stopping patterns of connecting services with National Express East Anglia.
This year there is an additional service from Marks Tey to London which will connect with the last train from Chappel (2325) this will call (to set down only) at Kelvedon, Witham, Hatfield Peverel, Chelmsford, Ingatestone, Shenfield, Romford, Stratford and London Liverpool Street
. This service will not run on the Saturday evening - the last service with a London bound connection on this day will be the 2300 from Chappel.
There will also be special buses operating to/from Marks Tey on certain nights, please see timetable for details.
Please purchase your train tickets from your local ticket office before you travel (or conductor if joining at an unstaffed station), use of the bus will be for those with valid rail tickets only.

Pre-Booking
There is no pre-booking facility for this event for individuals (this is not the case however, for the Winter Beer Festival, which is pre-book only, please see the necessary section of this website for details), however if you are bringing a coach party, it is possible to use our express Admission, please get in touch with the Museum to find out more.
The Museum will make every effort to run the event as advertised, however all events are subject to alteration should unforeseen circumstances occur
