Event Details
Thomas the Tank Engine
and his Friends will be visiting the Museum throughout the August Bank Holiday Weekend, as well as the Weekend at the end of the October Half Term.The Admission ticket covers:
Unlimited Rides on a train pulled by Thomas the Tank Engine.
Unlimited Rides on a train pulled by one of Thomas' friends
Unlimited Rides on Daisy the Diesel Railcar.
Unlimited Rides on Henrietta pulled by Toby the Tram Engine
Unlimited Rides on the Miniature Railway (in the event of extreme weather the mini rail will be unable to run)
Meet 'Sir Topham Hatt' - The Fat Controller
Other activities, such as I Spy Thomas
Story Telling with 'Sir Topham Hatt' - The Fat Controller
Story Enactment - a live show where Thomas' Friends will be entertaining the children.
As well as this we will also have an imagination station where children can take part in Thomas themed activities, there will also be free Day out with Thomas Sickers and Temporary Tattoos. Each child who rides on Thomas' train will recieve a Junior Engineers Certificate.
There will also be two Thomas Souvenir Shops on site, as well as the Refreshment Room serving Sandwiches, Sausage Rolls, Crisps, other light snacks and hot and cold drinks.
Admission Prices - Prices have been held from 2008 - Yes, 2008!
Pre-booking is advised to save you money, but tickets will be available on the day.
Adults - £10 (£12 if you Pay on Day)Children - £6 (£7 if you Pay on Day)
There is no charge for Infants 0-24 months on admission. No concessions at this Event.
Ticket Availability
Tickets can be purchased in advance for this Event - either via our Online Ticketing System, on the phone 01206 242524 (10-4pm) or from the Museum's Reception during opening hours.Pre-Booking via the telephone or visiting our Reception will close at 3pm on the day before the event commences, or at 7pm on the evening before if using our Online Ticketing System - it will not be possible to pre-book for the following day after this time.
Tickets will be available on the day at the standard rate to ride with Thomas and his friends.

Parking
We have free parking at the Museum, however parking can become restricted at the Museum in the event of poor weather.
Why not come to the Museum by National Express East Anglia Trains? An hourly service operates between Marks Tey and Sudbury during the event, and if coming from Marks Tey includes a ride of the Chappel Viaduct.
This journey is NOT included in the Thomas Ticket and tickets should be purchased from the train operator at your local ticket office.
Booking Conditions for Day out with Thomas
Tickets are issued for a specific date and will not be accepted for admission on alternative dates.
Tickets are valid on the ticket date only
Tickets will be required as proof of purchase and entry to the Event
There are no concessions at this Event
No refunds or exchanges are available
Tickets are not transferable
The Museum reserves the right to refuse admission
- Advance bookings can be made up to 3pm on the day before the event commences by telephone and must be paid for in full or up to 7pm online for the next day tickets.
